Hakata in Fukuoka Prefecture flourished as a trading port with the continent many years ago. Currently, the city is developing not only as a tourist attraction, but also as a business district. When sightseeing, it is easier to use a charter vehicle or charter bus so you can avoid wasting any time waiting.
The first place we visit is Dazaifu Tenmangu shrine, which is crowded with many tourists throughout the year. It is known as one of the most prestigious gods of learning in Japan and the faithful come to worship from all over Japan. If you have an upcoming exam or test, about to start a new job or you want to improve your skills, you may want to wish for good luck here. Let’s take home a souvenir of colorful amulets or good luck charms from a wide range you can choose from. Also, you will find the famous Umegaemochi on sale in the shopping street leading up to the entrance of Dazaifu. Why don’t you try the freshly made local sweet as a treat.
We will have lunch at one of the largest shopping malls in Hakata, Canal City Hakata. There are a plenty of shops too, so you can spend some time shopping as well.
In the afternoon, let’s enjoy the scenery of Fukuoka from the Hakata Port Tower, the highest tower on the shoreline in Japan. From the 5th floor observation deck 123 meters above ground, you get a magnificent panorama view of the city of Fukuoka. The observation room on the 3rd floor, 116 meters from the ground, is a famous date spot for couples. This floor has some attractions especially for couples such as “key of love” that allows you to attach a heart shaped padlock and “bench of lovers” made of glass. Of course, these can also be enjoyed by families and groups.
For dinner, we recommend you try some famous Hakata cuisine in the city center, such as hot pot or ramen. You might even choose to eat at one of the famous yatai food stalls. Should you wish to roam the streets of Hakata after dark, it will be safe and easy if you hire one of our charter vehicles.
