Hiroshima is known as the first city an atomic bomb was dropped in the world. Many people visit Hiroshima not only for sightseeing but also for learning. Since the roads here are wide, let’s rent our charter vehicle or charter buses so you can enjoy a leisurely drive along the beach. The first place you must visit is the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, where you can see the A-Bomb Dome (World Heritage site), the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, and the Peace Flame, which were built to communicate to the future generations the impact the atomic bomb can have. Please take a stroll around the park and think about what peace means to you.
Next, we will move on to the main tourist attraction in Hiroshima, Miyajima Island floating off the coast of Hiroshima bay. About 20 minutes away from the ferry terminal, wild deer will welcome you to the island, against the backdrop of lush greenery and mountains. There are many restaurants and cafés in Miyajima, so you might want to try some conger and oysters that this area is famous for. You may also be interested in Momiji Manju, a type of sweet pastry that is popular among tourists. Other tourist spots include Omotesando shopping street and Gojunoto (five-storied pagoda).
In the afternoon, we will move onto the World Heritage site, Itsukushima shrine. The beautiful vermillion red shrine floating in the sea and the Torii gate you can see from the shrine are a must. The dream-like scenery changes its face with the tide during the day. There are many other places of interest such as the Miyajima Aquarium, the wooden structure of Toyokuni Shrine and the Daisho-in Temple that traces back to Kobo Daishi.
