In Hokkaido’s central city Sapporo, there are plenty of places where you can enjoy sightseeing and nature within a short distance from the city. Therefore, it is more efficient to travel by charter vehicle or charter bus rather than public transport. In winter, the weather is extremely cold and there are a lot of snow, so it is safer to leave the driving up to the driver of the charter vehicle.
The Clock Tower is a famous tourist attraction and it is also well known as the symbol of Sapporo. It has been preserved as an important cultural asset of Japan, and exhibits documents related to the development of Hokkaido. It is also a great location for memorial photos.
The Former Hokkaido Government Office building is an American-style neo-baroque architecture and is listed as one of the important cultural assets of the country. With its modern appearance of red bricks, the building is still widely loved by locals. The archives and historical documents are exhibited inside the building, so visitors can gain some knowledge about Hokkaido’s history. For lunch, you have lots to choose from, including Hokkaido’s famous soup curry, ramen and seafood. (Hokkaido is famous for its great food.)
In the afternoon, we will move onto Sapporo Beer Museum, the only beer museum in Japan. You can find out all about the brewing process of the popular Sapporo beer and its history. You can also taste some of the beer at a fee. If you hire one of our charter vehicles, you have no need to worry about drinking the beer as you don’t need to drive. In the premises, there are many restaurants and shops, including some that serve Hokkaido’s famous dish Jingisukan. The final stop on this tour is Hitsujigaoka Observation Hill, another tourist attraction with magnificent scenery. On the hillside you get a great view of the mountains and it overlooks a sheep farm. This location is famous for the statue of American educator Dr. William S. Clark, who is well known as the frontier spirit of Hokkaido. Why not take a photo with the statue while doing the same pose?
