If you’re going to visit Hokkaido, Furano & Biei area is a must see. Since the area is some distance away from urban areas, it is common to use a charter vehicle or charter bus rather than public transport. In winter the road will be covered in snow, so it will be safer to leave the driving up to the driver of your charter vehicle as they will always have the required driving skills.
First, we will head to a farm popular among tourists called Farm Tomita. You will appreciate the beauty of nature, when you see a gentle hill against the backdrop of mountains with some snow remaining on top. This farm boasts the best lavender field in Japan and lavender flowers are in full bloom between spring and summer. Although there will be many tourists, seeing the hill covered in stunning lavender color makes it all worthwhile. You can still enjoy seasonal flowers and fantastic snow scenery when the lavender season has finished. You must try the famous lavender soft serve ice cream while you’re here. There are also other facilities such as cafes and galleries, so let’s take a relaxing stroll around the farm.
After lunch, we will head to Panorama Road where you see a wide road against the backdrop of beautiful hills. Let’s take in the magnificent panoramic view while on the road. If you hire our charter vehicle, you can get out and take some photographs on the way. Takushinkan is a tourist attraction nearby that exhibit wonderful photos of Furano & Biei area’s hills and landscape. This gallery uses a closed down elementary school that has since been renovated and it has a distinct melancholic atmosphere you will enjoy. It is also refreshing to take a walk along the path flanked by white birch trees outside of the building.
For the final stop on this tour, you will be enchanted by a spectacular carpet of flowers on a hill (seasonal) at Shikisai-no-oka gardens. The park facilities include buggies, carts and an alpaca ranch, so you can spend some leisurely time here.
